The SPE Industrial Partner Network more than doubled the number of its members within a few months

February 18, 2020

The seven founding members have become 17 members since the SPS fair in November 2019.

The SPE Industrial Partner Network more than doubled the number of its members within a few months. The seven founding members have grown to 17 members since the SPS fair in November 2019. Each company is a technology leader and specialist in the various areas needed to strengthen and complete the SPE ecosystem. The common unifying basis is the international standardisation of SPE infrastructure according to IEC 63171-6 and IEC 11801-x, IEEE 802.3, to which all members refer.

Since SPS 2019, the SPE Industrial Partner Network has more than doubled its number of members. In January 2020, 17 well-known technology leaders from the automation industry were already a part of the network. In addition to the founding members (HARTING, TE Connectivity, HIROSE, LEONI, Murrelektronik, Würth Electronic and softing IT network), the companies igus, DEHN, HELUKABEL, Molex, Amphenol ICC, Lütze, ESCHA, Perinet, EKF and Zheijang have been members of the SPE Industrial Partner Network e.V. Other interesting companies have already expressed their interest and will soon continue to grow the network. This great interest and the willingness of a wide variety of solution providers to become active and cooperate in a network shows the relevance of single pair Ethernet for the future of automation.

The new members complete and strengthen the SPE ecosystem and give interested parties the necessary expertise and investment security to start design-in projects with single pair Ethernet. They stand for a strong partnership of technology leaders who are committed to the T1 Industrial interface defined by ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 25/WG 3 and TIA TR-42 in 2018 according to IEC 63171-6 as a uniform media dependent interface (MDI) pronounce.

"Only the SPE Industrial Partner Network with its numerous partners offers users the technical expertise to convert the field level to single-pair Ethernet. Frank Welzel, 1st Chairman SPE Industrial Partner Network.

For the reliable establishment of the entire future SPE ecosystem, standards for transmission protocols, cabling and device components are also jointly supported. Therefore, all members of the partner program, as well as the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 25/WG 3, are in close exchange and intensive cooperation with IEEE 802.3 and IEC SC 46C for uniform transmission standards and copper data cables.

Single pair Ethernet is the infrastructure basis that makes IIoT and Industry 4.0 possible.

About the Partner Network:

The SPE Industrial Partner Network is based in the Westphalian town of Rahden and is an equal alliance of companies that promote single pair Ethernet technology as the basis for fast and successful growth of IIoT. The aim of the association is to establish SPE as a new Ethernet technology in the sense of a comprehensive ecosystem with all necessary components on the market.

We also see ourselves as partners of industrial Ethernet user groups and would like to support them in adapting this new “physical layer” for PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, CC-LinkIE, for example.

The bundling of competencies from the individual companies is intended to give users security of investment when employing this technology. Other interested companies are happy to be seen as new members. Shaping the future together - contact us!
