Industry networks announce merger to create leading industry network for the future of Single Pair Ethernet
FRANKFURT AM MAIN/GERMANY, September 14, 2026 – Single Pair Ethernet System Alliance e. V. and SPE Industrial Partner Network e. V. announce their merger into one association. Both, merger and formation of the new organization were approved and notarized on June 2/3, 2026, during extraordinary general meetings. The new association, which was confirmed in the association register on August 20, 2026, will operate as a single unified entity under the name of Single Pair Ethernet Association e.V.. With this step, the two previously independent networks consolidate their expertise, activities, and members under one umbrella in order to further drive the development, standardization, and global market adoption of Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) in a focused and effective manner.
In addition, the merger will strengthen international visibility, and create a strong joint industry, user, and research forum, thus allowing a close alignment on technical content, market activities, as well as international initiatives and driving an agile and streamlined implementation. The new Single Pair Ethernet Association will enter the global arena premiering at the following trade shows:
IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show)

IAS (Industrial Automation Show)
Shanghai / China – October 12–16, 2026
SPS – Smart Production Solutions
Nuremberg / Germany – November 24–26, 2026
In parallel, the merging of the existing websites into one web platform has already been started. The new website will be accessible via the established and well-known web addresses www.singlepairethernet.com and www.single-pair-ethernet.com.
The formation of the Single Pair Ethernet Association marks the beginning of a new chapter in strong industry collaboration. Together, the members will continue to advance SPE as a key technology for industrial communication, automation, and IIoT – this in a very agile and global approach and a streamlined voice.
In the frame of the extraordinary general meetings, the existing members of the two previous networks have been transferred to the new association, ensuring that the established knowhow and extensive experience will fully contribute to the work of the new Single Pair Ethernet Association.
The existing working groups will be integrated into the new association environment and will continue their projects and initiatives with their combined expertise and the benefit of an aligned collaboration, extended resources, and new impulses, thus creating prime conditions to drive the development and implementation of shared goals even more efficiently and effectively.
